Funeral services for the Rev. Glover Morgan, 76, of Alto, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, March 28, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Johnny Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. Morgan died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the residence following an extended illness.

Born Feb. 4, 1938, in Hayesville, N.C., he was the son of the late Ray M. and Amanda Kilby Morgan. He was also preceded in death by a son, John Daniel Morgan; brothers, Tom Morgan, Vincent Morgan, Ben Morgan, George Morgan, Joe Morgan; and sisters, Mary Katherine Morgan, Rebecca Morgan and infant Morgan.

The Rev. Morgan was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. He was an evangelist and owner of Glover’s Saw Shop.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Morgan of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, James and Cheron Morgan of Alto; sister, Ruth Strickland of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, James Levi Morgan, Autumn Parker, Summer Morgan, Johna Danielle Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
