Funeral services for Betty Harris Fry, 79, of Mt. Airy, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, April 23, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Fry died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born Feb. 1, 1935, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Henry C. Harris and Bessie Funk Harris. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rennie Fry; son, Steve Gulley; brothers, Odell, Joe and Ernest Harris; and sisters, Willie Mae Moore, Emma Lou Jones, Jimmie Boyd and Imogene Simpson. Mrs. Fry was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Fry was a member of Line Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano and being with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Maxine Fry of Cleveland and Judy Roberts of Mt. Airy; son, Larry Gulley of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Tarra Jackson (Jeffrey), Jordan Roberts and Amber Gulley; and several nieces and nephews.
