Funeral services for Bobbie Nix Whitlock, 99, of Demorest, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Umbehant officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Banks County.

Mrs. Whitlock died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Aug. 12, 1914, in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late Robert M. Nix and Elizabeth Martin Nix. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Julius “Buck” Whitlock; son, Wilton Whitlock; brother, Carl Nix; and sisters, Magnolia Carlan, Roselie Church, Mildred Williams and Lucille Maney. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a homemaker and a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. She was an avid reader who enjoyed puzzles, flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Andrew Eller of Demorest and Sharon and David Baskin of Cornelia; grandchildren, Andy Eller, Joey Eller, Jill Moore (Jared) and Kim Kaminski (Tim); and great grandchildren, Tanner and Bhrett Kaminski.
