Funeral services for Tommy Lee Barrett, 74, of Alto, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell and the Rev. Luther Williams officiating. Burial followed in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Davis officiating.

Mr. Barrett died Thursday, May 8, 2014.

Born July 26, 1939, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Travis Joe and Veatrice Smith Barrett. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Billy Barrett and Bobby Barrett.

Mr. Barrett was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He was a Mason, Shriner, Scottish Rite and York Rite. Mr. Barrett was the former mayor for the city of Baldwin and former Habersham County commissioner. He loved camping.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Rosie Cragg Barrett of Alto; son, Travis Stacey Barrett of Alto; sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Edwin Williams of Alto.
