Mr. Giddens died suddenly Monday, July 7, 2014, at a local area hospital following an extended illness.
Born Sept. 25, 1939, in Waycross, he was a son of the late David Jeffers and Vada Mae McDonald Giddens. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Don Giddens.
Mr. Giddens was an avid photographer, and was the owner and operator of Ed’s Photography. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army with two years of service and eight years of service with the U.S. Navy. Mr. Giddens was of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Giddens of Demorest; stepdaughter, Robin Horne of Savannah; sons, Chris Giddens of Demorest, Jeb Giddens of Decatur; sister, Merle Jordan of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Obe Giddens of Millwood; grandchildren, Summer Giddens, Cody Thompson and Kevin Thompson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon-4:15 p.m. today, July 11.
In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to Mrs. Judy Giddens, 960 Hilton English Road, Demorest, GA 30535, to help with final expenses.
